A Sunday Self-Care Routine to try Tonight

A Sunday Self-Care Routine to try Tonight

Self-care should be a priority for your mental health — and your physical health. If it’s been a long week and you’re feeling a little frazzled, use your day off to check in with yourself and indulge in some well-deserved self-care activities. No idea where to get started?

Here’s an easy self-care Sunday routine you can try tonight to feel and look like your best self again.

#1: Wake Up Early

Most of us lie in as long as possible on a Sunday morning. No alarm = no need to wake up. As important as sleep is for your overall well-being, waking up early on a Sunday has its own set of benefits.

For starters, it’ll keep you in your routine so that it’s easier to wake up again on Monday morning and the remaining work days. Second, sleeping in too long can sometimes leave you feeling sluggish, so starting the day early can energize you for the rest of the day. And finally, waking up early gives you more from the day. You can do those activities you never have time to do during the week, and basically just appreciate the day more.

#2: Declutter

Decluttering works wonders for the mind. It’s easy for clutter to accumulate throughout the week when you find yourself constantly racing around. Use Sunday morning to clear away the clutter and ultimately declutter your brain for a nice, fresh start to the week.

Pour yourself a cup of tea or coffee, put on your favorite playlist, and — working from one room to another — clear away anything that doesn’t need to be there and put each item back in its place.

You’ll feel amazing afterwards!

#3: Unwind with a De-Stressing Podcast

Include a motivational or de-stressing podcast into your Sunday morning routine to start your day feeling great. We can all feel tired and unmotivated at times, so it’s important to remind ourselves of why we do what we do and what our goals are. The right podcast can instantly improve your mood and energy levels.

You can also listen to one in the evening before going to bed to help calm your mind and unwind for the night.

#4: Diffuse Some Essential Oils

If your weekdays are a little chaotic, and you’re looking for an escape, try diffusing some of your favorite essential oils to calm your mind. Lavender, orange, mint, and rosemary are some good ones for de-stressing and soothing an overburdened mind.

#5: Enjoy a Bubble Bath

Ahhh baths. They’re the best remedy for stressful weeks. Enjoy a bubble bath tonight to relieve an overwhelmed mind and sore muscles, and you’ll feel refreshed and ready to go by the next morning. You can decide what you want to put in it. From bath salts to oils and sliced citrus fruits, you can get as creative as you like. Then simply slide in, and switch off for the next 20 minutes.

#6: Relax with a Face Mask

You can do this in the bath, while watching your fave Netflix series, or with your besties. With the right face mask, you get the benefit of better skin and a calmer mind. If you’re looking for the perfect self-care Sunday idea for stress relief, try relaxing in the bath with a face mask on.

One of our favorites is Rainbow’s Hydrate Mask. It contains hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5 to deeply hydrate, plump, and rejuvenate for a renewed complexion. And with that wonderful jelly texture, using it couldn’t be more satisfying. If you’d prefer something more energizing, try Rainbow’s Glow Mask, a formula of glycolic acid and bakuchiol to brighten up your skin. For best results, use in your weekly skincare routine.

#7: Give Yourself a Mani-Pedi

No time or energy to get a professional manicure and pedicure? No worries! You can do it yourself. Simply soak your feet in the bath or a bowl or water, trim your toenails, push back your cuticles, and massage in some cream, and you’re done! DIY mani-pedis are a great form of self-care.

#8: Chat with Your Besties

Spending time with your best friends and loved ones is a great way to spend your Sunday. Whether you choose to hang out, have brunch, go to a yoga class together, or simply communicate over social media, checking in with your besties and family members will make you feel instantly content. You could even do something super spontaneous like go to a dance party tonight — if you’re feeling party vibes, that is!

#9: Create a Gratitude Journal

True self-love starts with realizing just how much you have, and appreciating what you have. In this day and age, most of us are always looking for something more, something better. On your Sundays and your daily life, try to write in your gratitude journal to remind yourself of all the wonderful things and people you have in your life. Then on those where you feel a little blue, open up your journal and lighten up your spirits with all you have to be thankful for.

You can include stories, affirmations, or basically anything that’ll help you to express your gratitude in life.

#10: Get Some Fresh Air

Been stuck inside all week? Boost your mood by going outside, breathing in the fresh air, and seeing something beyond your four walls. You could go for a walk, visit the local farmer’s market, or even just sit outside for some peaceful reflection.

#11: Have an Early Night

Go to bed early tonight and wake up feeling revived. Getting plenty of sleep should be a priority in your daily routine, both for your mental and physical health. You can make it easier to wind down by investing in some luxurious nightwear, satin bedding, and keeping your tech devices in another room so you don’t have any distractions. Do whatever works for you. Just be sure to get plenty of quality sleep!

Try this Sunday self-care routine tonight to calm your mind and soul, and start the work week feeling refreshed and revived.
