An Easy Eyebrow Care Routine For Beautiful Brows

An Easy Eyebrow Care Routine For Beautiful Brows

Studies show that eyebrows are the most important of all the facial features. In addition to adding length and definition to your face, eyebrows have the power to change the look of your face by making small eyes appear larger and eyes that are too far apart appear closer. As for their function? Eyebrows are there to keep your eyes — and your sight — clean and clear.

If you want to keep your brows looking their best, it definitely pays to show them a little extra TLC. Here’s an easy eyebrow care routine you can try at home for achieving beautiful brows.

#1: Cleanse + Condition

Daily cleansing and moisturizing keep your brow hairs clean, healthy, and soft. Just the like the rest of your face, the skin under your brows is prone to dirt and oil buildup, which is why it’s important to cleanse the area gently every day. It’s equally as important to moisturize the area to prevent dryness. Opt for a lightweight moisturizer or hydrating serum to keep the skin and eyebrow hair looking and feeling their best.

We recommend Rainbow’s Hydrate Serum for achieving your best brows. Simply dab a small amount over each eyebrow after cleansing, and let it absorb before applying brow pencil, brow gel, and brow powder.

#2: Buff those Brows

Equally as important as daily cleansing and moisturizing is exfoliation. Exfoliating your brows helps to buff away dead skin cells, excess oil, and grime. It also improves circulation of the hair follicles, ensuring healthy hair growth. And to top it all off, it preps the skin and hair for seamless makeup application. Your brow products will go on a lot smoother when your brows are properly prepped.

We recommend Rainbow’s Glow Serum for gently exfoliating your brows. Simply dab a small amount over each brow, and leave it to work its magic. No rinse required!

#3: Consider Threading

Threading is the best method for defining your natural brow shape. Unlike waxing and tweezing, threading is super precise and helps you achieve your perfect eyebrow shape. It’s an excellent technique to try if you’re looking to up your brow game!

Threading is basically when we take a twisted thread and use it to gently pull the hair from the follicle, which means it can remove hairs that are too short or fine to be waxed,” says Umbreen Sheikh, founder and CEO of Wink Brow Bar. “And since threading puts pressure on top of your skin, it can even push hairs up from underneath the surface to grab and remove.”

Just a heads up: while you can DIY it, it’s always worth seeing a professional beforehand since it threading does require a lot of skill.

#4: Nail Your Tweezing Technique

Don’t have time for threading appointments? Tweezing is a popular method for tidying up the brow area and achieving your perfect brows. That said, you do need to be careful not to overdo it with your tweezers, as over-plucking can leave you with sparse, patchy brows. Plus, they don’t always grow back the same once you’ve plucked them away.

To nail your tweezing technique, tweeze any stray hairs that fall outside of your natural eyebrow shape for perfect arches. If you need help, book an appointment with a brow expert. They’ll be able to show you how it’s done — and won’t leave you with sad, sparse brows.

#5: Boost Hair Growth

Whether you’ve got naturally sparse eyebrows, or you simply overplucked, there are a few home remedies for speeding up brow hair growth. It’s believed that natural oils such as coconut oil, castor oil, and olive oil can be helpful in facilitating hair growth. Loaded with proteins, fatty acids, and vitamins, these oils aid in nourishing hair follicles — promoting thick, healthy brows.

Of course, you’re not going to see results overnight or even in a couple of weeks. But over time, regular application of one or all of these oils can nourish skin, ward off dryness, and stimulate hair growth.

#6: Define them with Makeup

You can definitely fake fuller brows with a few makeup products. You’ll need a spoolie brush, eyebrow pencil, an angled brush, brow powder, and brow gel.

Begin by brushing your brows up with a spoolie brush (aka a brow brush). Handy hack: if you don’t have a spoolie, you can use an old mascara wand instead. Simply wash the wand thoroughly, and use.

Next, take your brow pencil and softly fill in any sparse areas using hair-like strokes. Make sure the color best matches your brows so that the end result looks naturally.

To define your brow shape even more, use an angled brush and a similarly colored powder to fill in those sparse areas some more. Brush through your brows again with the spoolie to blend in the color. Finally, set the look by comb through your brows with a colored eyebrow gel. You can enhance the overall look even further by applying a little concealer and highlighter underneath your brows to make those edges clean and sharp.

#7: Apply a Mask

To show your brows some love, consider applying a hydrating face mask. If you’re dealing with dry, flaky brows, your focus should be on hydrating the area with nourishing skincare products.

We recommend Rainbow’s Hydrate Mask. Apply a thin layer over each brow, let it sit for 10 minutes, then rinse off. For best results, use 2-3 times every week.

If you’re a brow grooming beginner, you might want to consider booking in with a makeup artist to help you achieve your perfect brows. Alternatively, try another more permanent method of brow shaping and definition such as microblading or tinting.

That said, you can definitely achieve beautiful brows from the comfort of your own home. In addition to following a skincare routine and grooming them properly, draw inspiration from makeup tutorials to help you ace your brow makeup look. Just make sure you keep things as natural as possible.
